KONZERTSTÜCK for violin, violoncello and piano (2018)|
version for violin, bass clarinet and piano (2021)
Raminta Šerkšnytė. Konzertstück for volin, cello and piano. Trio Kaskados: Rusnė Mataitytė (violin), Edmundas Kulikauskas (cello), Albina Šikšniūtė (piano)
PROGRAMME NOTE
In my Konzertstück I wanted to express ironic, sarcastic mood, which would remind the character of Mephistopheles. Therefore the music is consciously based on diminished seventh chords, since the triton is considered as the “Devil’s interval”. In this piece I also added some jazz “flavor”: swinging rhythm, progressions of the seventh chords, and virtuoso cadenzas.
