FOREST IN THE NIGHT

I composed Forest at Night when I was 15 years old. On that time I was studying piano and composition at the Kaunas Juozas Naujalis Music Gymnasium. In this piece I wanted to create the mysterious mood of the forest at night: the darkness, the motionless trees and their shadows, as if time had stopped, and the silence, which is occasionally interrupted by unexpected sounds….

Miškas naktį buvo sukurtas man būnant 15 metų, kuomet mokiausi Kauno Juozo Naujalio menų gimnazijoje fortepijono ir kompozicijos specialybių. Šiuo kūriniu norėjau perteikti paslaptingą nakties miške nuotaiką: tamsą, sustingusius medžius ir jų šešėlius, tarsi sustojusį laiką ir tylą, kurią karts nuo karto pertraukia netikėti garsai….
